Confessions are heard 15 minutes before weekday Masses and on Saturday before the morning Mass plus 12:30-1:00 pm; 3:30-3:45 pm.

TUESDAY MASS TIME returns to 11:30 am this week on August 3rd. Eucharistic Adoration also resumes. Please sign up. Also, join us for Evening Prayer and Benediction starting at 6:10. Evening Prayer includes the chanting of psalms and a Scripture reading and reflection related to the Eucharist.  

MEMORIAL MASS  for Marion Nowicki will be held this Saturday,  August 7th  at       10:30 am. Celebrant will be Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki. Friends and Parishioners are invited to attend this “Celebration of Life Mass”.

STEWARDSHIP REPORT (July 24-25) Regular Sunday Collection - $2,558: + $70 Donations:  +$69.01Votive Candles: +$73 Mission Cooperation. TOTAL - $2,770.01.

PLEASE NOTE: Cemetery Maintenance Envelope (for the upkeep and care of our cemetery) and the Catholic Accent envelope is in your monthly packet. Please drop them in the regular Sunday collection basket. Thank You!
ST. JOSEPH PARISH FESTIVAL 2010:

  • Bishop Lawrence Brandt has granted permission to change the time for our Sunday Mass to 10:30 am on August 15th only in order to accommodate our Festival schedule.
  • The “GIVING TREE” is in the entrance to the church. Please be generous and pick a leaf/leaves and donate the appropriate item/items.
  • VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP SHEETS are in the entrances to the Church. Please give of your time and talent for the success of “ Our Parish Festival”.
  • BAKED TURKEYS are needed for “Sunday Dinner” on August 15th. There is a sign-up sheet in the church entrance.
  • LARGE PRIZES are needed for the “Prize Center”. (Lawn Mower, Bicycle, TV, etc).
  • BASKETS are needed for the “Gift Gallery”. (School, Kitchen, Sports, Picnic etc).
  • ALL donations can be brought to the school during the day.

ANNUAL APPEAL for the Church in Poland or Liga Katolicka. All proceeds will aid flooded churches and help to educate Polish priests abroad. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated. All are remembered at Poland’s national shrine in Czestochowa, Poland. Place your donation in the main collection on August 21/22 or 27/28, using a plain white envelope marked “Church in Poland”. Include your name on the envelope. Thank You.

ROAST BEEF OR HAM DINNER: The first Sunday of the month dinner sponsored by the Everson Volunteer Fire Co. is today, 11 am – 2 pm. For take-outs, please call 724-887-4421. Your support is appreciated. All are welcome.

EVERSON FIREMAN’S FAIR: Please support our local Firemen’s Fair, August 6-7-8 at the Fairgrounds on Jones Street. Food, games, entertainment and amusement rides each evening. Firemen’s Parade, Saturday at 6:00 pm. Car Show on Brown Street on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon. (**Brown Street will be closed to all traffic, noon till parade ending) Traffic will be re-routed along Graff and Painter Streets. Please join us!

INTERFAITH BLOOD DRIVE:  Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania and the Central Blood Bank are sponsoring a series of Blood drives this summer, “Sharing Faith, Sharing Life”. The Greensburg event will be August 16th at Four Points Sheraton. To schedule an appointment or information call 1-866-DONORS or visit www.centralbloodbank.org.

PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION helping a senior neighbor in need. Jacob’s Creek Area Faith in Action, in partnership with United Way of Westmoreland County, offers volunteer opportunities to help neighbors in need with transportation, telephone calls and supportive home visits.
