SAINT JOSEPH PARISH - -  2010 SUMMER FESTIVAL

Next weekend, August 14th & 15th we celebrate our 36th Annual Parish Festival. We have worked hard to insure our Tradition of wholesome Family Fun, Super Polish & American Food and Games and Entertainment continue. Our Festival is really like a Parish Open House and Parish reunion rolled into one. For many, the Festival here at St. Joseph’s is a summer highlight. We want to make a good impression. We hope you and your family, neighbors and friends will be a part of our celebration next weekend. And please remember, this is not our Pastor’s Festival or the Organizing Committee’s Festival, it is Everyone’s Festival who calls SAINT JOSEPH PARISH in Everson HOME.
2010 Parish Festival Committee.
NEEDS AND WANTS – With less than a week till FESTIVAL TIME, we still have many major holes to fill. We are depending on you! Thank you to all who have donated but as of Wed. Aug. 4th we still need cases of Canned Pop (have 5-need 25). We need cases of Bottled Water (have 9-need 20).  We need 2 liter bottles of pop (have 8 – need 100). We need Gifts/Baskets for Gift Galleries (have 13-need 66). We would really like to have at least 1 bicycle. WE need Baked Turkeys for Sunday’s Dinner (have 17-need at least 20). We need items for the Wheel Barrow of Cheer. (it is practically empty right now). Also, please help fill the CAKE STAND with Baked Goods. Other items needed by the kitchen are on the “Giving Tree”. PLEASE help so the Parish does not have to buy them.
FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS - It’s CRUNCH TIME! Thank You to all who have signed up so far…BUT we have many vacant booths and areas that need filled. To name a few: there is NO ONE to run Keno or Tip Boards. We need help with Bingo. Many Game Booths have NO ONE signed up, especially on Sunday. Both the Outside and Inside Kitchens are alarmingly short of help. PLEASE give a few hours or an evening or a weekend to help make “OUR FESTIVAL” a success. God will remember..it actually can be fun!!  We don’t want to have to put signs on booths saying “Closed due to lack of volunteers”.   BOTTOM LINE – Please don’t think someone else will do it - - There is no one else.

PRE-FESTIVAL WORK SESSIONS: SET-UP….Beginning Monday, August 9th at 9 am. (tear-down..Monday, August 16th around 8:00 am). PRIZE/GIFT SORTING: Tuesday, August 10th at 7 pm. CABBAGE AND NOODLES: Noodles – Thursday, August 12th at 8:00 am: Cabbage – Friday, August  13th at 8:00 am. ( DONATIONS OF FLOUR AND ONIONS ARE NEEDED).

“WHOSE JOB IS IT?”—This is a story about 4 people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. Don’t let this be the story of OUR PARISH FESTIVAL – Please Volunteer - -we need your help!
