Confessions are heard 15 minutes before weekday Masses and on Saturday before the morning Mass plus 12:30-1:00 pm; 3:30-3:45 pm.
TUESDAY MASS TIME is 8:00 am this week and there will be no Eucharistic Adoration. The Mass time will return to 11:30 am on August 3rd and Eucharistic Adoration will also then resume.
STEWARDSHIP REPORT (July 17-18) Regular Sunday Collection - $2,530: +$200 Paluch Refund: +$126.91 Votive Candles: +$970.33 Mission Cooperation. TOTAL - $3,827.24.
MEMORIAL DONATION: We gratefully acknowledge a gift of $20 in memory of Thaddeus (Ted) Kramarski from the Employees of Sam Cohen and Sons. May the Lord grant eternal happiness to all of our beloved departed and bless our benefactors.
SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL PARISH CONFERENCE UPDATE: Since April our conference has been able to assist fourteen people distributing $1,430.10. This financial assistance rendered to the needy includes rent, utilities and medical expenses. The Saint Joseph Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society thanks the parish for its generous support. Please consider joining us to help the needy of our community at our next meeting July 28th at 6:30 pm in the school hall.
ST. JOSEPH PARISH FESTIVAL 2010:
- FESTIVAL MEETING is scheduled on Thursday, July 29th at 6:30 pm in the school hall. Please plan on attending. Many hands are needed!
- Bishop Lawrence Brandt has granted permission to change the time for our Sunday Mass to 10:30 am on August 15th only in order to accommodate our Festival schedule.
- The “GIVING TREE” is in the entrance to the church. Please be generous and pick a leaf/leaves and donate the appropriate item/items.
- VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP SHEETS are in the entrances to the Church. Please give of your time and talent for the success of “ Our Parish Festival”.
- BAKED TURKEYS are needed for “Sunday Dinner” on August 15th. There is a sign-up sheet in the church entrance.
- LARGE PRIZES are needed for the “Prize Center”. (Lawn Mower, Bicycle, TV, etc).
- BASKETS are needed for the “Gift Gallery”. (School, Kitchen, Sports, Picnic etc).
- ALL donations can be brought to the school during the day.
580 LITTLE ONES are now being cared for at Trinitas House in Malawi. Donations can be sent there via Bill Soisson, 219 Painter St., Everson, PA 15631.
BISHOP BRANDT invites all couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary during the calendar year 2010 to participate in a special Golden Jubilee Mass to be held at Our Lady of Grace Parish on Sunday, September 26 at 3:00 pm. Please contact the parish office to register for this celebration. Even though they may not be able to attend the Mass, they will receive a scroll signed by the Bishop commemorating their anniversary.
ST. PIUS X CHURCH Festival in Mt. Pleasant, Sunday, July 25th, 11 am – 10 pm. Live entertainment, homemade ethnic foods, games for all ages, flea market and much more. Please come join us!
CAR CRUISE at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Greensburg, Friday, July 30th, 5-9 pm. Dash Plagues for all registered vehicles. 50/50 drawing, raffles, music and featuring Texas Roadhouse. Rain or Shine. All are welcome!
FRIENDS OF THE POOR WALK sponsored by the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will take place at four different locations and dates: Greensburg will be held on 9/25/10 – for information or additional location and times, please call Paul Whalen @724-836-3096. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The Salvation Army is seeking a Human Services Secretary to assist people in need. The commitment is once a week, Monday or Wednesday, 11:30 to 3:00 pm, in Scottdale. For more information see the flyer posted at our church entrances or call Marilyn Albright (724-887-0816)

I do not mean to say that caring for the elderly and others is not a burden. It can be, sometimes significantly so. I am saying that bearing this burden is so central to being human that if we ruin from the burden, we not only disrespect the elderly and vulnerable, we dehumanize ourselves.
