ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL OF RELIGION:
We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Jill Skowronek will serve as our new parish Coordinator for Catechesis of Children and Youth (K-12) for the 2011-12 catechetical year. Jill replaces Mrs. Pat Borek, who recently stepped down as Director of our School of Religion after nearly 20 years of exceptional volunteer service. Jill has also graciously agreed to serve this year on a volunteer basis. We are most grateful. Please support her with your prayers and in other ways.- Additional catechists are needed for the 2011-12 catechetical year! Fully- initiated, practicing Catholics are eligible. Orientation and courses for catechist certification will be provided by the Diocese and paid for by the parish. Teaching experience is a big plus. Call the parish office or contact Jill at 724-204-4459. Volunteers for other positions are also needed e.g., office assistant and catechist aide.
- As the new Diocesan Catechetical Curriculum goes into effect this year, and with a new parish Coordinator of Catechesis, parish policy and practices regarding religious education will be reviewed. Appropriate adjustments and minor changes can be expected. Also. parish programs for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and Marriage Preparation are needed. Interested persons should speak to Fr. John.
