ANNUAL OCTOBER COUNT of people participating in the weekend Masses begins this weekend.  All persons in the church, except the priest, will be counted.  This number, as a percentage of parishioners, is an important measure of the spiritual health of the parish.  There is a grave obligation to attend Sunday Mass each week.

ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (K-12) classes are each Sunday 9:45 am – 11 am. Today, the parents program for Confirmation will take place at 9:45 am in the church. Next Sunday, the parents’ program for First Penance will take place at the same time and place.

THIS IS RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY!  The Fay-West Respect For Life Group will sponsor a Life Chain across the Everson-Scottdale Bridge today (Sun., 2nd)  2-3 pm.  This is a prayerful way to support the pro-life movement.  Signs will be available on both sides of the bridge before the event.  Everyone is welcome.

CHURCH ROOF REPLACEMENT is now scheduled to begin next week at the earliest.

NIGHTTIME EUCHARISTIC ADORATION, from 7 pm Tuesday until 8 am Wednesday, continues into week FIFTEEN! Please continue to support our adorers with your prayers. Stop in for adoration anytime. In the presence of Love Itself, one  becomes loving. Extra keys are available from Fr. John for anyone desiring frequent nighttime visits.

HEARTFELT AND PRAYERFUL PARISH SYMPATHY is extended to the family of John Szolek, who passed away on September 21st.  May he and all of our beloved departed inherit our Lord’s promise of glorious new life, and may the hope of eternal reunion in our Father’s House comfort his family.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY, St. Joseph Church Conference, will hold a food drive on the weekends of October 8-9 and 15-16 to collect nonperishable food items for the Thanksgiving food baskets to be given out at St. John’s in November.  Canned soups, pasta and sauce, mac and cheese, tuna, cereal, peanut butter, canned vegetables and canned sweet potatoes are especially needed.

2012 MASS INTENTIONS:  Mass intentions for 2012 are now being accepted.  Requests are limited to one (1) on the weekend and four (4) during the week per family.  If through the year weekend/weekday Masses remain available, a notice will be put in the bulletin.
