SING A NEW SONG  In just two weeks we will begin to implement a new Mass Setting.  Although the revised Roman Missal is to be implemented on the First Sunday of Advent, Bishop Brandt has granted permission for parishes to begin a gradual implementation of the people’s sung parts of the Mass.  This will help to ease the burden of learning the new responses, acclamations, and prayers.  Beginning the weekend of September 17-18, we will take a few minutes before Mass to teach the new Sanctus, Mystery of Faith and Gloria.  Please make every effort to join with us a little earlier than usual, that we may together sing a new song unto the Lord.

DO YOU ENJOY SINGING?  Consider joining the Greensburg Diocesan Choir.  Comprised of singers from around the Diocese, this ensemble sings for Diocesan liturgies at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.  Rehearsals begin Tuesday, September 6th at the Cathedral at 7:30 p.m.  We welcome all new and returning singers.  For more information, contact Christopher Pardini, Diocesan Choir Director ,at (724) 834-3710 or cpardini@dioceseofgreensburg.org.

THE EVERSON VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY DINNER for September is canceled due to the Labor Day weekend.

A VIGIL ON THE 10th ANNIVERSARY OF THE EVENTS OF “9/11” will         be held on Saturday (10th) starting at 7:30 pm in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensburg (located at the Mt. Pleasant Road exit off of Route 30). Hosted by the Westmoreland Choral Society and Greensburg Ministerial Association, the vigil will include various readings and classical musical selections, some accompanied by the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra.  A free will offering will be taken.  For more information call 724-610-1441.
