Feast of St. Casimir (March 4th) - Swiety
Kazimierz
The second son of King Casmir IV was born in 1458. Named Casmir after his
father, he distinguished himself in his youth by a deep piety and blessed
charity to the poor. As a young man he refused the crown of Hungary.
On his deathbed St. Casmir asked that a copy of his well-known hymn to Our Lady,
which begins: "Dnia kazdego, Boga mego, Matke wyslawiaj"-
"Daily, daily, sing to Mary," should be buried with him. |
